FOODLAND

Local Grocer

You know, it's not every day that you can say you had a blast at the grocery store, but that's exactly what happened to me at Foodland Farms. I went to Foodland Farms to pick up some poke – they have a fantastic variety, and it's always fresh. This place has been serving Hawaii since 1948, and they're credited with popularizing poke by making it more accessible. As a part of the closely-knit Hawaii community, they're all about supporting local farmers and suppliers, which I admire.

As I was browsing the mouthwatering poke selection, I noticed "The Bar" by R. Field Wine Company inside the grocery store. There were a few seats available, and since I was hungry, I decided to indulge.

I happily ordered a glass of red wine and a charcuterie board. The food and wine were both delicious, and one glass turned into three. I was feeling pretty good, and I found myself in deep conversations with fellow shoppers who had also stopped off at the bar.

After a delightful time at the bar, I grabbed my salmon poke and couldn't help but pick up some of my favorite chicken fingers on my way out.
