This woman-owned, minority-owned restaurant, started in 2019 by two longtime friends, dishes out mouthwatering farm-fresh goodness that showcase both classic favorites (like loco moco, garlic shrimp, and kalua pig) and inventive surprises (like smoked beef brisket and crispy lechon). Each bite reflects their passion for great food and exceptional customer service, which has excitingly earned them a well-deserved fifth place on Yelp's 2023 list of the "Top 100 Places to Eat in the US."
At Adela's, home cooking is elevated to an art form. The star of the show? Fresh noodles made daily from locally grown ingredients like avocado, taro, Okinawan sweet potato (ube), ulu (breadfruit), and moringa (malunggay).
The inspiration for these delightful noodles stemmed from the realization that farmers in Hawaii struggle to find a market for all of their produce, with many having to resort to feeding it to animals, or throwing it away. Having studied noodle making in Hokkaido, Japan, the team behind Adela’s Country Eatery knew they could create something more sustainable.
These unique noodles have since become the foundation for Adela's scrumptious, made-from-scratch dishes that customers adore. Their fresh noodles are also available for purchase if you want to make your own creations at home!
Patience is a virtue at this Kaneohe eatery, as the preparation of their delectable creations can take up to an hour during peak busy times since everything is made fresh, and tailored to people’s specific dietary needs, whether it be vegan, vegetarian, or gluten-free.
