Emerging from the darkness of the tunnels, you are greeted by a dramatic panorama of the Ko'olau Mountain Range. This sudden reveal of nature's grandeur is nothing short of breathtaking.

Before ariving at the entrace of Kailua beach, you will pass by the iconic family-owned Kalapawai Market which has been serving customers since 1932. Inside, a variety of offerings are for sale, from coffee to gourmet snacks to t-shirts and other knick-knacks. The deli at the back makes sandwiches and wraps, which can be enjoyed at picnic tables. They also have a sister cafe in Kailua town that serves more food.
