In the most unlikely of places, tucked within the bustling Foodland at Ala Moana (1450 Ala Moana Blvd, Honolulu), you'll find Eleven - an elegant speakeasy-style bar and lounge. A refined and romantic atmosphere awaits, where the food is delectable, the drinks masterfully created, and the service impeccable.

As you enter, the seductive scent of smoked cocktails envelops you. The extensive whiskey selection tempts, and the option to have any drink or whiskey smoked adds a sense of intrigue. I tried the Hay Day, one of their signature concoctions, presented in a smoky jar adorned with a seared orange rind. A captivating sight, indeed.

Don't come expecting full-fledged entrées; Eleven is a "drinks and pupus" joint. The hamachi carpaccio was exceptional, with its fresh, clean taste. I savored the bacon candy, tender and chewy in all the right ways. The brioche was delightful, as was the sake-seared salmon. And those plump, tender scallops? Perfection. Their desserts are anything but ordinary - each bite a symphony of flavors.

Eleven is the perfect spot for a pre-dinner rendezvous, with drinks and small bites to whet your appetite before venturing out for a full meal. Sit at the bar, engage the talented bartenders, and revel in the delightful company. It's an experience you'll cherish.
